Drool For Tools is a tool review and buying-notes site. We do not sell, rent or trade your contact details. When you click a store link, the store or its affiliate network may set cookies to credit the sale.
1. Who we are
This website (droolfortools.com) is published by Our Landmen LLC, doing business as Drool For Tools ("we," "us" or "our").

2. Information we collect
Information you choose to send us
When you use the contact form or the brand form, or email us, we collect what you send: your name, email address, company, the tool you are asking about and your message. A form submission also carries the page you sent it from, the name of the form and the time. If you call, we see your phone number.
Form submissions go from your browser straight to a database at Google Cloud (Firestore). That database is shared with other websites published by Our Landmen LLC, so a message from this site sits beside messages from those sites. We read what arrives there, and we may add your name, email address and message to our private contact records so we can answer you and keep track of the conversation.
If you join the newsletter, we collect your email address, your first name if you choose to provide it, your explicit consent, the version of the signup wording, the signup page and the time. Newsletter signups go to Drool For Tools' private Firestore database. The public site cannot read the subscriber list. We use this information to send the shop notes, reviews, project updates and giveaway news you requested and to keep a record of your consent.
Newsletter signup does not enter a giveaway. If a reader giveaway opens, its own page will explain what information is needed to enter and how it will be used to administer that giveaway. We do not share the newsletter list with tool suppliers.
Technical and log information
When your browser loads a page, our host records standard server logs: IP address, browser user-agent, operating system, the page requested, the response code, the referring page and the time. The logs are used to keep the site running, to stop abuse and automated scraping, and to watch page speed.
3. Cookies and third-party technology
Our own pages set no cookies and store nothing in your browser.
- Web fonts: the fonts are served from this domain, so loading a page sends nothing to Google or any font service.
- Amazon Associates: Amazon links carry our Associates tag. After you click one, Amazon may use cookies to credit a qualifying purchase to us. See the Amazon Privacy Notice on Amazon.com.
- Other stores: links to The Home Depot and Lowe's are ordinary links with a tracking tag in the address, and those stores may set their own cookies. If we join other affiliate programs (such as Sovrn Commerce, Impact, CJ Affiliate or AvantLink), their links set cookies in the same way to credit a sale, and we will name them here.
- AvantLink: while our application with AvantLink is open, the home page loads a short verification script from AvantLink's server, which receives the request for that page.
These cookies do not send your name, address or email to Drool For Tools. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.
4. Affiliate links and advertising
Drool For Tools follows the Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255).
- Amazon Associates Program: Drool For Tools is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, Drool For Tools earns from qualifying purchases.
- Other stores: Home Depot and Lowe's links currently earn no commission. We will identify additional paid programs when their links are added.
- Editorial independence: tags, listed specs and buying notes are ours. We never accept payment for a tag, a placement or a good word. How the tags work has who pays for what.
5. How we use information
We use what we collect to:
- answer your messages, corrections and brand inquiries, and keep a record of the conversation;
- send the newsletter updates you explicitly requested and process unsubscribe requests;
- keep the site running, fast and protected from abuse;
- meet legal, tax and accounting requirements.
We do not sell your personal information. We have never sold, rented or traded personal contact information to data brokers, lead aggregators or telemarketers, and we never will.
6. Service providers
- Google Cloud Platform and Firebase Hosting: hosting, content delivery, TLS, and the databases that receive form submissions, in the United States. Contact and brand messages use a database shared with other websites published by Our Landmen LLC; newsletter signups use Drool For Tools' private database.
To unsubscribe from the newsletter, email hello@droolfortools.com from the address you used to sign up. We handle requests ourselves and stop sending updates to that address. You can also request deletion of your signup record.
7. Your rights under state laws (Texas TDPSA and California CCPA)
Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and similar state privacy laws, you have these rights:
- Right to know and access: to confirm whether we process your personal data and get a copy.
- Right to correction: to have inaccurate personal data corrected.
- Right to deletion: to have personal data you gave us deleted.
- Right to opt out: of processing for targeted advertising, sale or profiling. We do not sell personal data or build behavioral profiles.
To use any of these rights, email hello@droolfortools.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We verify and answer every authenticated request within forty-five (45) days, free of charge.
8. Security and retention
Pages are served over HTTPS. We do not delete form messages on a schedule: we keep them so we can pick a conversation back up, and we delete yours when you ask (see Section 7). Records we need for tax and accounting are kept as those rules require.
